| My Mom loves Green Day. She was rooting for them at the Grammys last weekend.
She asked me to buy their last 2 CDs.
I didn't tell her that 10 years ago, she threatened to take my Green Day CDs away.
But with American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown always playing in the backgrounds, now I find myself threatening her to take the CDs away.

| Another year here, another year done.
A lot has happened in 2009, for better and for worse. But I am glad it's over.
I want to revive this blog, but it'll take a lot of time for me to manually private my previous entries. I don't care for its content, but I want to keep them because I've had this LJ forever. [It's 6 years old, and still one of the first 2 million LJ's ever created. Impressive!]
Anyway, I have a lot of projects on my mind and not much else to say, except 2010 is a new year.
It's up to you, now make your move Kashi.

| i was going to make an entry detailing the derailment of my last relationship, but i'm getting sleepy, so i shall defer from that story until another day when my fingers feel like typing.
Merry Christmas [3 days later]. scored awesome stuff, but basically my parents gave me money so i could buy whatever i wanted. i inadvertently geeked out on my last trip to the mall and bought some cosplay and other anime goods, so i shall need to organize a costume party to put these things to use.

| history in the making people. i can't believe some of the things that i've been privileged [perhaps] to see in my lifetime. things that i'm reminded to tell my kids stories of these things.
i distinctly remember my black 5th grade teacher saying how we'd see a white woman as president before a black man. i also don't remember very many pleasant memories from that school year, so i'd love to see him eat his words. but here we are, 12 years later...and Barak Obama is president.
i think only 5 people know who i voted for, and i have absolutely no desire to go about spewing my political views or disclosing the answer to that. as much time as i spend on Facebook, i don't think i've ever seen so much discussion of politics in one forum from people my age. of course there are things that i'm pleased to have seen, and some, not so much.
but despite the outcome, there are 2 [maybe 3] things that surprised me the most in the aftermath of this election:
1. the views of certain people who really equate president-elect Obama is the devil ascending the throne. and not just people saying mean things because they don't agree with his policies...i'm seeing people that i KNOW, whom i would believe had HALF a brain, have truly racist and ignorant views about a black man in power. really? i mean REALLY?? when you say "God save/help the US of A"...i hope you understand that you're talking about YOURSELF.
2. people talking about Sarah Palin as if she's a saint, that she'll do great things after this election. uhm. Palin rose out of obscurity, and now she'll sink back into obscurity, except now i have to worry about Alaska know that i know what degree of idiot governs that state.
3. the degree of apathy that come from people i know. a classmate of mine said he didn't vote because he wasn't informed enough, and says that uninformed voting is bad. i think laziness is worse, and i can say this because i HATE politics. discussing it, following it, imposing it upon others...whatever. but election stuff has been going on for the last 2 years, and i've DEFINITELY been dissatisfied for the last 8...so why wouldn't you want to inform yourself about the next person who might lead the country?? i informed myself, with much disinterest but great need, and therefore, i can't lend sympathy to those who haven't. and that coming from a LAW student?!?!
then there are those apathetic who say that they don't agree with either candidates' platforms; one conflicts their personal beliefs and the other doesn't do it for them...there were freaking like 12 nominations for president. surely you couldn't educate yourself on ANY of them??

however, there is no greater want in my body than me wanting a Ninja Cat. it says a lot, because i don't like cats, but i would give a kidney for a Ninja Cat.
oh, and the second coming of "Numa Numa".
